Photo Doodles

I take a lot of photos. My various devices have thousands of photos of pretty sunsets, amazing landscapes, historical monuments cute animals, and weird things I found on the ground. Most of the time, those photos just sit there, only to be noticed and enjoyed once in a blue moon when I happen upon them while looking for something else. While photobooks are nice, I decided I wanted to interact with my old pictures more directly and so I began digitally doodling on them. At first, I just added faces or wings to things, but eventually, I started adding characters and trying to match the lighting a little. I enjoyed reliving the memories attached to the photos while incorporating a little bit of current me in them the best way I know how.

So, if you have a device, pull up a photo in some sort of photo editor or drawing program and doodle away!

Some ideas for inspiration:

-create imaginary friends and add them into your vacation photos

-put giant monsters in your landscapes

-draw a face or wings or horns on anything and everything

-embellish the decor in a photo by adding florals or swirls

-add text or thought bubbles to add a little context

-cover part of a photo you wish were different with something whimsical

Below are some of the photo doodles I have created. Happy Making!
