Knolling

Knolling is a type of photography in which objects (usually objects that are related in some way) are arranged at 90-degree angles on a flat surface and then photographed from above. The resulting images are incredibly satisfying to look at. It's a versatile art form because you can use any set of objects you find interesting. It's a great way to remember objects that are important to you or show off the tools of your trade.
I found this project to be simple and soothing. The only downside is having to put everything away when you're done.
